About:

Expanding on this year’s theme “The Lives of Others” and in collaboration with The Everyday Projects, FotoIstanbul proudly announces its first photo competition on Instagram. This competition is open to anyone around the world with access to Instagram.

Rules & Eligibility:

The contest is open to anyone with an Instagram account app.

Participant’s Instagram account must be public.

Participants need not to be professional photographers.

Participants must tag their images with #FotoIstanbul2015 hashtag and post them on their Instagram feed.

Submitted images may be taken with any photographic device.

Uploaded and tagged images must be copyright of the participants.

Participants must comply with Instagram community guidelines and terms of service as well as international copyright and intellectual property laws.

Participants using other people’s photography will be disqualified.

Participants agree and give full permission to FotoIstanbul to post their submissions on FotoIstanbul’s social media accounts including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Participants agree and give full permission to FotoIstanbul to post their submissions in FotoIstanbul Facebook page for public/second round of judging.

Contest winners allow FotoIstanbul the right to use his or her name, likeness and biographical information, as well as the right to select and use images in connection with any and all FotoIstanbul promotions.

Participants retain full copyright of their submissions and work.

FotoIstanbul reserves the right to request documentation in any form proving ownership of submitted photographs.

There are no limits on the number of images tagged and submitted.

Digitally altered images baring basic adjustments will be subject to disqualification.

FotoIstanbul reserves the right to unilaterally amend the contest rules, awards, dates, content, and structure.

Participants are considered to have read and fully agreed and understood FotoIstanbul terms and conditions.

Employees of FotoIstanbul as well as all founders and contributors involved with The Everyday Projects are not eligible to participate.

Make sure to mention @fotoistanbultr in your captions.

Deadline:

Submissions are accepted between September 9, 2015 and October 9, 2015. Submissions close at 18:00 Eastern European Time Zone (Turkey time).

Judging:

A distinguished and independent panel from The Everyday Projects will select the best images for the preliminary round of the judging by the end of October 9, 2015.

Once the first round is completed the selected images by The Everyday Projects panel will be posted on FotoIstanbul’s Facebook page on October 9, 2015. At this point the public is invited to participate in the second round of judging. For this round the public (everyone everywhere) is invited to visit FotoIstanbul Facebook’s page and LIKE the images they would like to see win.

There will be no limit on the number of images one can LIKE on FotoIstanbul Facebook page. At the end of public judging round top three images with the most number of LIKEs will be announced as winners. Public judging period ends on November 9, 2015.

FotoIstanbul will arrange for the delivery of prizes to the winners. Winners may be subjected to various taxes and tariffs depending on each winner’s country of residence and/or citizenship. FotoIstanbul, its affiliates, and sponsors will not be responsible for such taxes and tariffs.

Announcement:

The winners will be announced publicly on FotoIstanbul’s Facebook page on November 9, 2015.
