‘Pure' is the desire to purify ourselves from the pollution in our minds, created by the synthetic and chaotic world imposed on us. The world is complicated and fast enough. Simple and slow is all we need.
Born in 1988, Aslı Çelikel graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts Department of Photography as the project frontrunner. She participated in various group exhibitions during her studentship, including ‘Connecting Dots’ at Pera Museum, and TÜYAP International Arts Fair. Having co-founded 17:00 / 5 PM project alongside five other photographers, Çelikel expands her photographic works with various projects. Currently continuing her graduate degree at Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts Department of Photography, Aslı Çelikel's participations include ‘Borderline’ (İstanbul Photography Gallery) and ‘NoManipulation’ (The Marmara Pera). The artist also works as assistant director in advertisement and cinema industries.
